Days of Pleasure

A week of happiness and pleasure, sleepful nights, no homeworks, exam-free, yet no allowance. These completed my worthy semestral break.

I couldn't find or think of anything that would make my week-long vacation worthy even if I am only inside our home. Before the Sembreak, I was planning to go and visit my relatives who are staying away from us. I even told my parents that I'll be going out of our town.

But I did not leave. And it was all because of my grandmother. She was unexpectedly rushed to the hospital the first day of Sembreak. So, I decided not to leave anymore.

As a result, I stayed with my grandmother in the hospital. I stayed there during the day and once at night. I couldn't resist, either.

Grandma stayed in the Intensive Care Unit for a couple of days so we were free. Nurses and doctors never allowed us to enter the ICU but we visited in the hospital to bring foods for my grandma.

On the 28th day of October, it was a coincidence when I saw Mr.Bernard Rapada at the hospital. He informed me that his wife who was my former teacher, Mrs. Joy Jean Marie Rapada, already gave birth to their baby boy, Carlos Benjiemin. I wanted to see them both but I was shy.

Thankful I am, my grandmother is already out of the hospital. She is now staying in our house so that we could watch and control her condition.

And that was my Sembreak 2010... Although it was somewhat boring, I am still happy because I was with my relatives. They came to our house to have a visit.

While now, I am hoping for a better vacation and hopefully, I could go out of the country even just for once.

Before October ends...

Before the semestral break and before October ends... the 2nd Grading Period has to end by now. After the Periodical Tests, a new chapter of my high school life has to begin.

During the 2nd Grading Period, I guess I have been so busy. I have attended several activities inside and outside the school campus. But I hope I could still cope up with my academics.

I oftentimes didn't attend my TLE class. Sometimes I was out. Sometimes I was busy. These were the biggest hindrances during the 2nd Grading Period. I regret being lazy, as well. I do not agree that I'd still be receiving high grades.

To cover up these mistakes, I should do better this Periodical Tests. I should get high scores in my examinations so as to maintain my grades. Before I'll take a break, I must strive first in my studies.

I have learned those HTML Tags... lots of HTML Tags. I never expected that there are lots of tags in the Notepad world. I once believed that Notepad is useless. But, it isn't.

Moving on, I should be more diligent in my studies and attend my classes regularly. If I am really a leader, I should start leading myself and the time is NOW to start.

Breaking Barriers Through English

Universal.  International.  Worldwide.  English is known wherever you go.

English has been a part of our daily lives.  We speak together with one language so as to understand one another even with diverse cultures.

Communications still have barriers.  That is why having one common language is very important.  I, myself, cannot talk to someone speaking in Niponggo.  My nose might bleed if I try to.

In business transactions, businessmen reject the investment if you do not understand one another.  Even in job opportunities, English proficiency is a requirement.  These are the barriers, and we should break these now through English.

Speaking in one common language could break all barriers.  Everything would be fine through English.  We cannot throw that language away.

Home.  Classroom.  Society.  Community.  Church.  Wherever you go, anytime of the day, you'd always be forced to speak in English.  And as days pass by, we should learn to speak by it, then speak from the heart.

English language is much helpful.

Filipinnovation, The Way Forward

At present, there are too many scars obviously seen on our nation's name.  We cannot deny that the Philippines is controversial.  The recently done hostage-taking is a proof.  Therefore, how can we pull Philippine innovation upward?

As Mr. Francis J. Kong stated during the 8th National Leadership Training for Student Government Officers at Teachers' Camp, Baguio City, "rest, if you must... but don't you quit."  I strongly agree with what he believes.  Let us stand first where we are right now and try to cure the scars that we are currently enduring.  Then, we'll be trying to set goals, definitely take risks, and will concentrate on reaching our goals.  We have the guts, we have the courage.

I, myself, can  no longer bear how other nations insult Filipino people.  Well and good, it's not sarcasm.  We, Filipinos, do not mind their own businesses.  Why couldn't they just leave Filipinos alone?  Maybe we'll be having more spaces to grow if they'll just mind their own.

As other nations rise up with innovations, I do envy them.  But then, I remind myself how lucky we, the children of today, and are the hope of tomorrow.  If we would just love our country, there's no doubt about introducing new inventions and discoveries.  We should use our intelligence well, and utilize our available resources.

In the Philippines, we receive quality education.  There are many research institutes established.  There are many institutions built for students aiming for new innovations.  If we would just use these establishments wisely, we'll rise and shine like other countries do nowadays.

Many are the hallmarks of inventions.  We apply these, and new discoveries will be introduced.  Today, Philippines is lacking of productive citizens.  To be able to feed this need, we have to start moving upward as soon as possible.  We have set our goals. Now, we have to step onto a higher ladder.  Take risks because there is no shortcut to success.

My Teacher, My Hero

"Success Dealers"

Teachers make the future professionals.  As others say, "Teaching is the noblest profession."  Well, I believe it is true.  Without teachers, there are no doctors, nurses, engineers and even accountants.  I owe my knowledge to my teachers -- my dearest heroes, my loving saviors.  But why are they really called 'heroes'?

I am not who I am today without them.  They molded me into a better person.  I cannot understand books without them teaching me.  They saved me from being down. They lifted me up and helped me reach the shining star up above.

They are our parents in school -- our second parents.  Although we may be naughty at times,  they still show they love and care for us students.  They deserve plaques of appreciation, congratulations and thank which will make them satisfied with their works.  Even if their salaries are not much high and is enough for their families only, they still manage to give their best to their dear students, though they are not in good moods.

After all their sacrifices, a single day for them is worth it.  They sustained the everyday needs of their students.  And as a way of thanking them and their good deeds, we show our love and care for them.  We owe a lot from them especially our knowledge.  Anytime and anywhere, they are our colleagues, our friends, our teachers, our heroes.

Teachers are really our heroes -- the unsung heroes of the golden arena.  They are the success dealers.  They are the original keys!

I did it!

I was expecting a life full of problems and intricacies. But then, fourth year life, as the elders say, is an enjoyable and interesting journey. High school life is not complete without enjoyment because these moments of happiness are to be treasured upon graduating in high school.

I know very well that everyone of us learned and discovered new things which are useful in our day to day existence. I've learned to be more diligent because being a senior student is not easy. I realized that academics is composed of diligence and hardwork. So therefore, I should be more hardworking and not an easy-go-lucky-teenage-girl.

The learnings and discoveries are those that include my notebook but I would always keep in mind the things that stayed in my heart and in my brain that I will forever treasure. I knew a lot about the topics we discussed. But I knew more about the things I experienced during the discussions. I learned not to waste even a second because every second is useful like how useful a drop of water is.

And in the first grading period, I encountered such problems like having sleepless nights and tiring days. I experienced a life full of stress. But then, it's not the time to give up. I have to be braver and be stronger like how I became in my previous years in high school. Because blogging is a requirement in our ICT IV, I sometimes get stuck writing drafts for my posts in my blogger. But I successfully finish those not in a snap of my finger.

These challenges, I know, are a part of enjoyment. After these hardships, I will be walking with my parents on the stage, taking a bow and thanking those people who will be sending their warmest congratulations. These difficulties should serve as my inspiration in doing better in my studies. I should not be stressed and depressed because I have to face these challenges in order to attain success in the future.

Difficult times are really hard to face but I know there are people who are ready to help me in times of trouble. And after these difficulties, I assure these people that I will be acknowledging their big help and contribution to my success in my chosen field. However, if I will not be attaining the life I want to have, I'd still be thanking God and these helpful people in giving me nice words and do not underestimate my abilities.

Moving on, I will be much better next time so that people around me will be satisfied and be proud of who really I am. I will be much better and stronger next time and try to improve those childish acts that I became last time. Hopefully, I'll be able to overcome those difficulties and intricacies of life.

"Caring for the Language and Environment with Neverending Love"

Language and environment may be interpreted as two different words with different meanings; but these two words are interconnected with each other. Nowadays, we live in a generation where love of language and environment are much needed. But how can these two words--language and environment be together as one?

While enriching our national language, the Filipino language, we must also unite to be responsible citizens who are truly mindful of what we do everyday to protect the environment. We must be conscious enough in flourishing the language and increasing awareness on environmental issues.

The Filipino language is an efficient key in promoting the welfare of Filipino citizens and in encouraging our fellowmen to join in keeping our environment beautiful, gorgeous and a perfect place to live in. Let us always reminisce that the language and the environment are both God-given gifts that we should protect and love as a sign of thanking Him.

Giving importance to our language and loving our environment are some of the ways on how we can show our love to our beloved country. The Philippines is a democratic country which means that we are free to do anything that we like. But it doesn't mean at all that we may do things that are not pleasing to this nation. We are not free and our conscience will never stop disturbing us if we will destroy the God-given gifts bestowed upon us. We must take responsibility for these things and we must consider how much God loves us.

Language and environment go together. Without language, we are not able to communicate with one another; thus, leading the citizens to misunderstanding and sometimes it causes quarrellings.

The Filipino language is needed in order to conserve and protect our environment. We still have many chances to change the present. We can do this. Yes, we can!
